This course will teach you the basics of Git and GitHub. Git and GitHub are used frequently by developers everywhere as a key component in the open source paradigm of programming. Students will learn the difference between the two, how they compliment each other, and the best ways to use them together in conjunction with Distributed Delivery Teams. We will cover remote Git Installation and configuration, Local and Remote Repositories, Branching, Merging. and more. We will also dive into the IDE Integration with Visual Studio, Eclipse, and IntelliJ. By the end of the class, students will understand why version control is important, and how it is a fundamental tool for coding and collaboration within a team, or an entire organization. Familiarity with these these practices is extremely beneficial as most High Performing Organizations use them in their delivery process
This course is targeted toward an Information Technology (IT) professional who has networking and administrative skills in Windows-based TCP/IP networks and familiarity with other operating systems, such as NetWare, Macintosh, UNIX/Linux, and OS/2, who wants to: further a career in IT by acquiring a foundational knowledge of security topics; prepare for the CompTIA Security+ Certification examination; or use Security+ as the foundation for advanced security certifications or career roles.
